A Process For Honoring Completions & Make Way For New Beginnings

At the Threshold of a New Beginning~

No matter what this past year has brought, honoring it through a completion ritual can be transformative. When we consciously close old chapters, we create space for fresh energy and new possibilities. Below is a simple, yet profound ritual to help you complete 2024 and open your heart to the magic of 2025.

Set aside 20 minutes or more for this process. You can do it alone or share it with friends or family!

Step 1: Acknowledge the Year or a Something You Have Completed

Reflect on the past year by answering these questions:

  • What have you created this year?

  • What have you learned this year?

  • What are you ready to release (what are you over and no longer serves you)?

Take your time to write or share your thoughts. Be generous in your reflections—this is a time to sit and honor your journey.

Step 2: Pause and Offer Gratitude

Sit with what has been. If it feels true for you, make a small offering to signify completion. Here are a few ideas:

  • Use flower petals (in the Andean tradition, three or four petals form a kintu). Blow your gratitude into them and offer them to a tree, the earth, or a bowl of water you can later pour onto the ground.

  • Light a small fire or candle. Offer incense to the flame as a gesture of thanks for the experiences of the past year.

Step 3: Open to Your Vision for 2025

This step can be a process, not an instant revelation. Step out of your mind and into your heart. Approach these questions with innocence and curiosity:

  • What inspires you now?

  • What am I creating from here?

Free-write your thoughts or share them with loved ones. Let this exploration evolve over days or weeks.

For added inspiration, grab a piece of paper or cardboard and your favorite art supplies. Write or draw words and images that reflect your vision. Keep this visible as a living inspiration for the year ahead.

If you’ve lit a fire, offer incense to honor what you are bringing forward.
You can also blow your intentions into flower petals or a seed and place them gently on the earth as a symbolic act of planting your dreams.

Step 4: Celebrate the New Cycle

Allow yourself to savor this process. Honor the ending of one cycle and the beginning of another.

With love and light,
