Fall Frequencies & Reset Rituals

I've just returned from the beautiful Orcas island, where I basked in the healing power of sound during a Level 2 Sound Healing Training hosted by Seattle Sound Temple. I was part of a team of amazing teachers and practitioners, and nature proved to be the ultimate sound healing master. She offered her own healing sounds: the chirping of birds, the lapping of waves, the splashing of frolicking sea otters, the rustling of leaves and the crackling of fire. I loved cool dips in the sea and enjoyed sharing the magic of sound healing with the beautiful group!.

Each of us has our own unique inner voice and sound when we allow our bodies to speak and resonate naturally. When we listen the Earth, we can feel her beat, much like our own heartbeat. This rhythm brings comfort to our bodies, helping us return to balance, especially during the Fall season. Pick up your drum and beat the drum to the rhythm of your own heart beat. If you don't have a drum, you can use your hand to gently tap and create the sound of a heartbeat on your body.

You can also experiment with the gentle power of your voice. Start with a hum, sending vibrations into your body and bones, and allow your body to sound whatever it wishes to release. A gentle hum can resonate healing vibrations deep in your blood and bones. These two simple practices are perfect for the autumn season, offering balance and grounding.

The autumn has officially arrived here in North America. Ancient traditions understand the significance of seasonal shifts. Fall is a time of harvest - an opportunity to gather what we've received from the previous season, prune what no longer serves us, and prepare for what's to come. It's a potent time for ritual, bringing balance to the physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies for greater health and clarity.

In Ayurveda, the Fall season can aggravate the Vata Dosha, stirring up the air element. To restore balance, focus on grounding with the earth element and igniting your digestion with the fire element. See below for tips on how to stay balanced and inspired this season.
